The UK government has announced a relaxation in the 2-metre social distancing rules, to allow more non-essential businesses to open.
From July 4th, the 2-metre rule will be dropped in favour of a “1-metre-plus” approach. This will allow pubs, restaurants, hair salons, hotels and campsites to re-open.
“1-metre-plus” refers to the adoption of safety measures in conjunction with relaxing social distancing. These include the wearing of face coverings whilst in close proximity to others and the installation of perspex panels at many businesses.
Businesses such as hotels and campsites will be required to keep a record of customers’ names and contact details, so that, in the unfortunate event of a localised covid-19 outbreak, all those potentially affected can be traced.
