It’s National Apprenticeship Week – 3-9 February 2020. This week will see lots of activity to support Apprenticeships and the many benefits they bring to the business.
De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) is celebrating National Apprenticeship Week with three events aimed at employers to find out how degree apprenticeships work in practice and how they can be adapted to fit their needs.
This year the Government is piloting full access for SMEs to training providers, opening up apprenticeships to the biggest pool of employers since the apprenticeship 2017 reforms.
DMU is a centre of excellence for apprenticeships in the region, drawing on its decades of experience in providing vocational programmes tailored to business needs.
Tiffany Back, Apprenticeship Business Manager at DMU, said:
“At De Montfort University we work with employers to develop and deliver apprenticeship programmes that address the needs of today’s business community. DMU apprenticeships enable employers to develop both their staff and their business at the same time and create sustainable business networks.”
Higher and degree apprenticeships allow businesses to upskill and develop their workforce with contemporary knowledge and skills relevant to specific industry roles as well as achieve recognised qualifications.
DMU’s events will give companies the chance to find out more about how apprenticeships work in practice, and ensure potential apprentices know what will be expected from them.
