Local MPs back the bid for an East Midlands Freeport in new video

Freeports are one of central government’s flagship policies in the wake of the UK’s exit from the EU, and aim to boost the economy by increasing trade and investment.
The East Midlands Freeport Bid draws on the existing strengths and expertise found in our region – in particular in logistics, advanced manufacturing and the automotive industry.
A successful bid would make the East Midlands Freeport the most connected and greenest Freeport in the UK. It would generate 60,000 jobs for the local area and elevate the East Midlands to the world stage.
