With the economy emerging from the impact of the past 12 months, the East Midlands Chamber 2021 People and Skills Week will explore what skills are required to support recovery and growth, to what extent they exist in the region, and how we can work collectively to deliver skills for the economy beyond the recovery.
Through a series of workshops, seminars and a centre piece summit on the 16 June, the week’s activities will focus on how we create an environment where policy-makers, employers, educators and individuals themselves can work together to ensure we can respond to the seismic shift taking place in local jobs markets across the East Midlands. It will also explore what the evolving policy landscape for skills means for our local communities – including the Skills for the Future White Paper, Apprenticeship and T Level Reforms, the Restart Programme and more.
All sessions are all free of charge to attend, for all the detail and to reserve your place at the Summit, plus links to the various workshops please visit the event page on the East Midlands Chamber website.
Workshop topics include detail of the work HS2 is doing to support the skills and education sector, green construction skills, changes in recruitment to attract future generations in a post-pandemic world, T Levels and Traineeships.
